Founded in 1990, Titu Maiorescu University (UTM) is a private higher education institution, accredited by the National Council of Academic Evaluation and Accreditation. Although relatively new, Titu Maiorescu University and its teaching staff have a national prestige. The academic programmes offer students a large possibility of choice. The liberal education system focuses on specialised and applied fields. ECTS and new curricula have been introduced to promote more felxible structures encouraging students to opt for personalised study programmes.
Titu Maiorescu University has had a special evolution for the past years, diversifying its offer through: implementation of distance education in Law, Psychology, Economics and Information Science and Technology, introduction of postgraduate courses (Master´s programmes) in : Law, Economics, Psychology, introduction of doctoral studies: Dental Medicine. In keeping with the Bologna Declaration and Romania strategy of European integration, the long-term strategy of Titu Maiorescu University emphasizes its international and European commitment: UTM provides high quality education, preparing students for the global labour market and for strong future careers.
UTM participates in European Programmes like SOCRATES/ERASMUS and LEONARDO da VINCI and has relationships in teaching and scientific research with European universities in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, as well as higher education institutions in Israel, Japan, the USA and Canada. UTM wishes to increase and diversify its participation in international cooperation, thus supporting student and teacher mobility.
