| Profile |
The Berlin School of Economics offers five MBA-degree courses which award the internationally recognised degree of "Master of Business Administration" (MBA).
The MBA programmes are designed to provide an overarching understanding of management tasks, offering the tools and expertise needed by executive management in global companies or medium-sized firms. The programmes focus primarily on developing viable and feasible management solutions in real situations facing internationally-aware businesses and organisations. This includes a broad understanding of management tasks, with an emphasis on the ability to solve management problems in executive positions. The courses offer the chance of a practice orientated additional qualification for future and existing managers. The chances and risks of globalisation and intercultural company leadership, international company strategy and changes in the European and international arena naturally have a meaningful place in the advancement of economic processes and cross border solutions and consequently take a key position in our MBA study courses.
The five MBA programmes on offer at the Berlin School of Economics have all been successfully accredited; in this way, each MBA programme intake can be sure they are studying for qualifications that meet international quality standards laid down by recognised accrediting institutions.
The courses are delivered through a programme of seminars. Case studies, business games, group work and presentations ensure a practical orientation whilst enhancing the management skills of the students. By learning and working in a cross-cultural student and lecturer body students will acquire or increase intercultural communication skills.
The courses run as day-time courses with a duration of 14 months or as part-time courses over two years.
The MBA in European Management is taught in collaboration with the South Bank University in London, UK, and allows students to study in two European capitals and in two languages. The full-time programme’s main focus is on the position of companies in the European business environment.
The European-Asian MBA programme is only taught in English, and is distinguished by its global management perspective and the international nature of its student body. This full-time programme includes an integrated three-month company internship, giving students the opportunity to utilise the knowledge they have learned and to contact potential employers.
The three part-time MBA programmes enable students to combine their working life with management education without interrupting their careers.
The MBA General Management - Dual Award Programme is taught in collaboration with the Anglia Polytechnic University in Cambridge, UK. The key focus of this course is on the business environment of companies involved in European trade.
The MBA in Entrepreneurial Management is designed to provide students with the essential management skills needed to lead innovative and growth-driven small- and medium-sized companies or larger company segments.
The MBA in Healthcare Management was developed with the assistance of experts in the area of healthcare management. Apart from basics in economics, it trains students in management skills for leading positions within the health sector.
